Serafina Taormina, MA CCC-SLP , Co-Director and Teacher
Serafina Taormina is a NYS and NJS licensed, ASHA certified, speech-language pathologist. She received her Bachelor and Master Degrees from St. John’s University, graduating summa cum laude for both. Serafina started her career working at a private pre-school for students with special needs in Brooklyn, NY, where she completed her Clinical Fellowship Year. She currently works for the NYC DOE as a speech pathologist in Staten Island, NY. Serafina services special needs students, at the elementary school level, with a range of speech and language disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Speech and Language Delays, etc. Serafina also provides private speech therapy services on Saturdays in Somerset, NJ with students who have social skills needs. Serafina started volunteering at Creative Communicators in 2014 as a student teacher and has grown with the program over the years. Serafina is now a teacher and co-director of Creative Communicators and “loves being part of such an amazing program with such amazing students.”
Once a Creative Communicators camper too, Kris Ward helps ensure that everyone feels like they’re at a home away from home. Kris Ward is always ready to bring the fun and energy level up.
